Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive technique that reduces localized fat excess.
This procedure is painless and simple to apply.
The skin and underlying adipose tissue are placed into a special applicator. This allows for a triple thermal shock.
First, the fat is warmed to become liquid; then it is cooled and frozen before being brought back to body temperature.
This protocol is automatic and lasts one hour.
The technique causes neither pain nor discomfort.
To achieve good volume correction, two to three sessions are necessary, spaced about three to four weeks apart.
In each session, more than 30% of fat cells may be destroyed: some are eliminated on the spot, while others are eliminated through stools. This cell destruction occurs through a process called “apoptosis.”
After each session, results can be visible after about three weeks.
Even fibrotic adipose tissue responds to this treatment.
The treated areas include: abdomen, waist, back, arms, hips, saddlebags, knees, and chin.
During the postoperative period, no special care, such as antibiotics or wearing a girdle, is required.
Likewise, no long-term adverse effects are observed.
However, local bruising may sometimes occur.
Each treatment is followed by the application of a “shock wave,” a vibration applied to the treated area, intended to enhance the freezing effect by weakening cell membranes.
